A 12 Year Old Boy Survives Avalanche After 40 Minutes
Even with all of the new technologies that we have to make skiing safer, the idea of getting caught in an avalanche is still one of the more frightening scenarios anyone can be in.
I'm sure it was the same for a 12-year-old boy who got caught in an avalanche in the French Alps.
After approximately 40 minutes, the boy was pulled from the snow alive and conscious. His only injury was a broken leg, which isn't really that bad considering the circumstances.
To add to the story, it was not technology that helped save the boy. It was a mountain rescue dog that made the find and helped dig the boy out.

12-year-old alive after avalanche buries him for nearly an hour
A 12-year-old skier is lucky to be alive after being hit by an avalanche and buried for nearly an hour. Rescuers are calling the boy's survival -- and being buried under feet of heavy snow -- "a miracle." The incident happened Wednesday at a resort in the French Alps.
