If the shutdown of the federal government has given you some extra time off that you didn't want or expect, you can kill some of that time at one of two Vermont ski areas that are giving out free day tickets.

Over the holiday weekend, Mad River Glen announced that they would give out day tickets, for free, to federal employees that have been impacted by the shutdown. For more information on how and when to take advantage of this program, follow the link to Mad River Glen.
