Saturday brought another sad story of a skier being killed by an avalanche. This was the first skier death of this type for 2019 in Colorado, as well.

Of the group of five that were caught in the Red Mountain Pass avalanche, four were rescued.

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center is forecasting central Colorado to be a high threat of avalanches currently.

Please be safe out in the backcountry and make sure you have all of your avalanche gear with you and that you know how to use it.
