With so many tragedies and snow related deaths this season, it is wonderful to have a story of a successful rescue.

On Thursday night, 17 of January, a 62-year-old man man a 911 call to get help after being lost out of bounds near Steamboat Resort. Local rescue teams began their search that night, but had to suspend their efforts at around 2 A.M. due to heavy snowfall in the area.

After rescue teams resumed the search, they were able to locate the man, whom had been lost for close to 16 hours by the time teams were able to pull him out. The rescue teams found that the man did not have back country gear or knowledge of the area, but he was relatively unharmed by the ordeal.
