On Tuesday, an avalanche in the Swiss Alps poured through the resort of Crans-Montana, injuring several people and killing one.

This avalanche was rare in that it happened in bounds. Reports from the area thought there to be 10 to 12 people that were caught up in the avalanche.

Local rescue teams were able to respond quickly, but there was still one death. It has been reported that the victim was a French ski patroller.

The search ended this morning, Feb. 20, after no other victims were found in the area and there were no other reports of missing skiers from the area.
