After finally being able to begin racing this season, Lindsey Vonn has had to make what seems to be an almost impossible choice. She has decided to retire from competitive skiing.

Some of the biggest news revolving around Vonn has been how injuries have impacted her career. Due to an accident and injuries this past November, she had to start the current ski season very late. It was during that first showing for this season that she showed that her body might not be up to the task as reports that the physical condition of her knees was getting worse.

"I will compete at the World Championships in Downhill and Super-G next week in Åre, Sweden and they will be the final races of my career."

Quoted from Vonn's social media page, she has confirmed that she will go out after one more competition.  She also talked about how she would like to see her career remembered and give thanks and a good bye to all of the fans that have supported her throughout her career.

It is without question that Lindsey Vonn will be remembered as one of the best competetive skiers to ever play the game. We at Ski Rex wish her the best and, like the rest of her fans from around the world, can't wait to see where the net phase of her life takes her.
