In a tragic accident outside of Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area, a snowboarder has been killed in a collision with an SUV this past Saturday afternoon, Feb. 9.

Shea Hemlick, a 32-year-old man from Meridian, was snowboarding in an out of bounds area not far from the ski resort. While attempting to jump Bogus Basin Road, the access road to the mountain, Hemlick collided with a 2006 Humer H2. Local EMS responded and took the man to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where Hemlick later died from his injuries.

The driver and the passenger of the SUV were not seriously injured and did not require treatment at a medical facility.
