Two Men Killed In An Avalanche Near Crested Butte, CO

In a report from the Aspen Times, the Mt. Crested Butte Police Department have said that Owen Green, 27, and Michael Goerne, 37, were reported missing this past Saturday night. After an initial search, tracks were found leading into a fresh avalanche field, but none were leading out. However, conditions that night made it impossible to attempt a recovery.
On Sunday the Crested Butte Search and Rescue team were able to track beacon signals from the two men, which allowed them to quickly locate then recover the bodies of Green and Goerne.
