We all know that the Sierra Nevada range took an absolute pounding this winter. The snow accumulation out there has been record-setting in many areas. The wonderful thing about that is ski hills in that area have been extending their seasons into early summer.

Now, this isn't an extension into the summer, but it is a couple of extra weeks that nordic skiers and snowshoe enthusiasts can take advantage of.

Yosemite National Park has announced that Glacier Point Road and surrounding trails are going to remain open until April 14. This area is usually closed by this time to begin snow plowing operations.

The park has also said that the snow clearing operations will still begin on April 1, so visitors should make themselves aware of their surroundings at all times. For more information on this and the area remaining open, please follow the link below.
