There are many ways for a person to enjoy skiing with their dog. However, leaving the dog behind in a freezing car while one goes to the mountain themselves is not one of them.

In a news story reported by Fox13 in Utah, Cottonwood Heights police responded to calls of a dog that was left in a car.

The police were able to free the dog, which was not injured by the freezing cold, and cite the owner for several city violations.

The lesson to be learned here is that if you can not take your dog to the mountain or out on the trail, leave them home. A freezing car in the winter can be just as dangerous as a hot car in the summer.
