This is the first time in 37 years that Charlotte, NC has gotten snow in April. Brad Panovich (@wxbrad), chief meteorologist for NBC affiliate WCNC in Charlotte, not only called for the snow on Tuesday but took to Twitter with the news and a photo.
#Charlotte officially got 0.1" so far which is the 1st measurable snowfall in April since 1982. 37 years ago! #snOMG #cltwx #ncwx pic.twitter.com/l1hzE4cF34— Brad Panovich (@wxbrad) April 2, 2019
It has also been reported that this is the second time in the last 100 years that the city has seen snow in the month of April. As can be seen from this city cam the spring showers were not an April Fools' prank. At least for a little while, they were honestly snow showers.
