After multiple years of planning, Eldora Mountain Resort in Colorado has gotten the go-ahead to expand their terrain onto Roosevelt National Forest land by the U.S. Forest Service.

This news comes after the mountain had to scrap plans for an expansion into a different area due to environmental and wildlife concerns.

This new expansion plan will be southwest of the current Jolly Jug Glades area.

There are very few details as to what the expansion will actually look like, but a small overview of possibilities was released in a U.S. Forest Service press release.

"The U.S. Forest Service has approved Eldora Mountain Resort’s request to expand the ski area on the Roosevelt National Forest, adding 62 acres of new terrain in an area known as the Jolly Jug. The project includes five new ski trails, amounting to approximately 27 acres of trails; 35 acres of tree and gladed skiing; a four or six-person high-speed lift; and additional snowmaking capabilities."
