Like many skiers, snowboarders, and other winter sports enthusiasts, you might be switching to hiking for your offseason mountain recreation. While you are out in the high mountains, keep a lookout for undetonated avalanche bombs.

As reported by Fox31-KDVR in Denver, some explosives used by the Colorado Dept. Of Transportation during avalanche mitigation did not go off.

As you will hear in the report, it was a very small number, twenty-two out of approximately 1,500 charges did not detonate.

The report also includes descriptions of the ordinance and what to do if you happen to come across any of this ordinance. Always remember to use common sense. If you see something that looks out of place, leave it there and contact local authorities.
