A doctor accused of assaulting a 12-year-old boy in 2016 has been found guilty, as reported by New Jersey Herald.

Dr. Samuel Caruthers has been on trial due to an incident that took place on a beginner slope at Mountain Creek Resort, a ski area in Vernon Township, New Jersey. It was reported the Caruthers was skiing with his children when a 12-year-old boy almost ran into them. Caruthers responded by punching the 12-year-old several times and "stabbing" the boy with his ski pole.

During the trial, Caruthers claimed that he did not realize that the boy was only 12.

The jury for the trial has found Caruthers guilty of this act. The specific charges that he was found guilty of are endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon. It has also been reported that Caruthers' lawyer is going to file a motion to overturn the verdict.
