According to the US. Forest Service, the man, who has yet to be identified, was caught up in a human-triggered avalanche Thursday at approximately 1:30 PM.
The skier was using an avalanche beacon, allowing for Rangers to locate him. They dug him out of one meter of snow. The Rangers performed CPR and had the man transported from the area.
He was pronounced dead at approximately 4:00 PM.
It is also believed that the man was skiing alone. Rangers only found one trail in the avalanche debris.
