Over the last week, it had been reported that three mountaineers, David Lama, Jess Roskelley, and Hansjörg Auer, were presumed to have been killed by an avalanche in Banff National Park in Canada.

It has now been confirmed by Parks Canda that the men were indeed killed in that avalanche and have been recovered.

Earlier in the week search parties had found evidence of people being trapped by an avalanche, but were unable to perform a rescue or recovery due to weather and safety issues.

As the men were part of The North Face Global Athlete Team, the North Face was the first to publicize the news of this tragedy. After today's confirmation, they went to social media to express their condolences and sadness of this loss.
