Nicholas D. Benedix, 32, was the man that was killed while skiing in the area known as Raymond's Cataract.
Benedix was skiing alone when he was buried by a human-triggered avalanche, which was initially reported to be in Tuckerman Ravine. Rescuers dug Benedix out of the snow, reported as over a meter deep. He was then airlifted from the scene but pronounced dead soon after.

Washington, New Hampshire. The Initial reports said the avalanche was on Tuckerman Ravine, a popular backcountry area at Mt. Washington.
