WATCH -- "Skiing The Steepest "Paved" Mile in The U.S."

Although I grew up in Vermont, there are times I come across new facts or pieces of trivia that I had never heard of. It was not too long ago that I learned that Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism and the Latter Day Saints, was born in Sharon, VT. That's in the central-eastern part of the state for those who don't want to look it up.

It is because of this video that I now know that steepest paved mile in the U.S. is near the town of Warren, Vermont, which isn't too far from the previously mentioned Sharon, again, for those who do not want to look it up.

For those who watch the video, you will also learn that it is closed during the winter and becomes an area for winter sports activities. The host even shows the hikers and sledders that are up there with the skiers. Being able to do all of this on a closed road must make for a unique experience, not to mention the bonus of being on a record-holding road.
