As this past winter continues, almost with no end in sight in some places, there has been an announcement of another small season extension. Yes, those who are in or can make it to Colorado are going from late spring skiing to early summer skiing.

Aspen Mountain has announced that it is going to be starting its summer operations on Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27. This is going to include 130 acres of skiable terrain for those who had the foresight to keep their skis and boards out of the closet.

"Skiing & Riding: Ajax Express chairlift will run from 10 AM - 2 PM, or as conditions permit, for laps on Aspen Mountain’s upper blue runs as well as black runs such as Summit and Blondie’s. All guests will upload and download via the Silver Queen Gondola as there will not be top-to-bottom skiing for Memorial Day Weekend."

The wonders of early summer turns are going to be alongside Aspen Mountain's other summer operations. This will include dining at the Sundeck Resturant and sightseeing trips via the Silver Queen Gondola.
