Basketball, though not necessarily thought of as a "winter sport', is played during the winter and into spring. Now, if that isn't enough for it to count as something we should talk about here at Ski Rex Media, maybe we should find a way to make it count. How about a couple of N.B.A. players buying ski resorts?

Tony Parker, who played for the San Antonio Spurs during their championship season in the early 2000s, has bought a large stake in SEVLC, a company that runs two resorts in the southern French Alps, as reported by REUTERS. He went into this deal with current Charlotte Hornets teammate Nicolas Batum and former French female basketball player Marie-Sophie Obama.

Parker is looking at this deal as part of his retirement from the N.B.A. after this season or the next.

For more information on this deal, take a look at the full article below which includes statements from Tony Parker and more insight regarding his entering into this deal.
