New Guinness World Record Set In Ski Boots...For A Marathon
Maybe you have run a marathon or maybe you only know someone who has. Either way, it is no secret that it is not an easy thing to do. So, how does one make it harder on themselves? They do it in ski boots. But hey, at least it was for a good cause and a world record.
Dr. Paul Harnett was able to complete the goal of setting the fastest time in ski boots this past Sunday, April 28. He was able to finish with a time of 5 hours, 30 minutes. That broke the previous record by over 20 minutes.
That's a heck of a win, but it comes with another win for the day. While making this attempt, Dr. Harnett was also raising money for the British Paralympic Association.
As a side note, he was not the only person looking to set a record that day. According to local sources, there were over 70 record attempts that day. A lot of those records did involve wearing other clothing that, like Dr. Harnett's ski boots, one doesn't usually associate with a marathon. There is a full list of at BristolLive. Also, Guinness World Records took to their Instagram account to showcase some of those attempting these bizarre records.
