Northern Escape Heli-Skiing has a brand new remote lodge set to open for the 2019/2020 winter. How remote is this lodge? This lodge is remote enough that you will be taking one of their helicopters to get to it.
"The Northern Escape Lodge is situated on a remote 50-acre waterfront wilderness estate nestled deep in the Skeena mountains. The new lodge will offer 10 single rooms for its guests along with accommodations for an additional 12 staff. There are 3 helipads and a Helishack to service the helicopters as well as a Catshack and maintenance area for their fleet of snowcats."
To make travel as luxurious and as easy as they possibly can, Northern Escape will take visitors, via helicopter, straight from Terrace Airport for a 15-minute ride into the wilderness where the lodge will be situated. From there is access to all the vertical one could wish for, again, via helicopter.
A bonus of this place is that when the weather is too bad for the helicopters, the Northern Escape snowcat fleet will be on hand to take visitors to the company's Catskiing Backup area. When heading to this lodge, it will be almost impossible to not get a ski day.
Although the lodge is in a remote location on Treston Lake, it is not some backcountry shack. Though totally off-grid, the lodge will have all of the amenities expected from a high-end wilderness resort. This will include Wi-Fi, for those who don't want to feel too far away from civilization.
This lodge will be part of the company's Elite Package, which can be booked from the Nothern Escape Heli-Skiing website. This package will be a semi-private package that can be booked individually or in groups, with a maximum of 10 guests at the lodge.
If you're going to be looking to get away from it all, but want a luxury experience while you are, this will be the way to go. Nothing beats a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel...except a shuttle copter.
