Something I Have Never Heard Of -- Australian Adli's Winter Gear Sale

I will start out with a little honesty here, I've never been a fan of ALDI supermarkets. It just wasn't my preferred place to shop when I lived in an area that had them. That's actually the reason, I thought, why I had never heard of this ski sale. Then I realized this sale was happening in Australia.

Now, the first thing that caught my eye with this was that a grocery store chain was doing an annual snow gear sale. It didn't make much sense to me, but I also believe that if a store chain thinks it can make money, go for it!

After digging a little deeper, I found that this is such a big deal for ALDI that they are giving away a trip to Perisher Ski Resort, which happens to be the biggest resort in the country, if not the entire southern hemisphere.

But then I dug a little bit deeper and found that this sale is a wicked big deal for Aussies. As it is reported in the article below, it turns into something akin to American Black Friday. It seems that people start swinging down on each other just to get the best deals.

Get your diary out ... the annual Aldi snow sale has been announced

If there's one thing we know, it's that people go nuts for Aldi's annual snow gear special buys sale. People get so invested in bagging a bargain, shoppers will often try "working in teams" to get their hands on the best deal. The ski sale, launched in 2008, is the German supermarket chain's most popular special buys event.

For 2019 this big to-do takes place on May 18, local time for Aussies. Just like I do on Black Friday here, I would wish you good luck, but you may or may not need it. It seems that is also that same day of the federal election, which could have an effect on the sale. While people are at the polls, others might be able to take advantage of it.
