The Season Extensions Keep On Coming -- A-Basin Pushing Deeper Into June

Credit: Dave Camara
As the season here in the east comes to a close with Killington Resort shutting down skiing/riding on June 2, Arapahoe Basin, CO is making another season extension.

After reporting four inches of new snow yesterday, May 29, A-Basin then reported that they would stay open on weekends through June 23.

If that wasn't enough to keep the CO locals kind of happy, there was a little bit of a bonus to the announcement. It came open-ended.

"We will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through AT LEAST JUNE 23. Right now it would be foolish of me to talk about being open the 4th of July. Absolutely foolish. But..........we will be open through at least June 23. At least June 23."

That quote came straight from "Al's Blog" and confirms that the closing date is open-ended. Now, it could be foolish to talk about being open on July 4, but with this seemingly never-ending winter, it might not be too foolish to bet on an Independence Day on the slopes.
