22-Year-Old Man Dies In The Backcountry Of Alberta, Canada

This past Saturday, June 15, a 22-year-old man was killed while skiing in the backcountry of Alberta, Canada.

According to the RCMP, the skier was hit by loose while skiing on Mount Haig, which is near the Castle Mountain Resort in the south of the province.

Two other people that were with the victim, along with hikers that were nearby, attempted first aid but were not successful in helping the victim. He died on the scene.

Parks Canada, Alberta Provincial Parks, and staff from Castle Mountain Resort all assisted in the recovery of the victim's body. 

The victim's family were also on scene according to the RCMP.

The RCMP and the local medical examiner are now conducting an investigation of the incident.
