Russian Snowboard Champ Murdered In Los Angeles

Dmitry Koltsov, a 31-year old snowboarding champion in Russia, was killed during a small crime spree in Los Angeles by, allegedly, a Utah man identified as Rhett McKenzie.

Koltsov was one of two victims killed this past Monday, June 10. He was shot from a car just before five o'clock that afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene according to L.A. County Sherrif's Dept.

The other victim that day was 50-year-old Joe Solano, an L.A. County Sherrif's Deputy that was off-duty at the time of the shooting. Though taken to a hospital and placed on life support, Solano died two days later.

Koltsov was a member of the national teams of Russia and Moscow, the winner of the Russian Cup, and the reigning Russian champ in snowboarding. It has been reported that his body will be returned to Moscow.
