After a teen was reported missing to Minnesota authorities on July 3, the Ontario Provincial Police have found the boy on the Candian side of the border.

As reported by the Omaha World-Herald, the 17-year-old boy was camping with a wilderness survival group at Basswood Lake, north of Ely, Minnesota.

The teen was reported to have left the lake and hiked in Quetico Provincial Park, which borders with Basswood Lake. The teen hiked between 5 and 6 miles heading into Canada to meet with friends.

It was about three days later that the boy was found. He was not in any distress and quite prepared for the hike having a map, compass, and other supplies for his journey.

The boy's name has not been released by authorities on either side of the border and he has been returned to the United States without having to face any charges for crossing the border.
