Two-time Olympic gold medalist and multi-time World Cup champion Ted Ligety stated that he will be competing for the 2019/20 season.

In an interview with KPCW, Ligety said that he is physically able and feels up to the task of competing in this coming season. This comes after having back to back issues that ended his season early, an ACL tear in 2016 and back surgery in 2017.

He also said that he is going to be sticking to just Giant Slalom events. Not only will this be easier to manage for his physical health, but will allow him a more flexible schedule, which will no doubt be welcomed by his family. Also, Giant Slalom has seen him at his most successful, including winning the first Olympic gold medal in Giant Slalom for the United States in Sochi.

As for the future of his racing career, he did not give a definite answer as to how much further he could go but did say that he will be racing this coming season and will see how it goes from there.
