Perhaps you are one of those people that likes to stay at the forefront of everything you do. You keep an eye for the latest and newest everything. Maybe you are one of those people that uses the newer or lesser-known brands just so you can be different than everyone else, which can be kind of pretentious in a way, but there is no judgment here.

No matter the reason that you try to stick with the lesser-known, no-name companies, here is a list for you. To be honest, I have only heard of a couple of these. However, just because they are unheard of doesn't mean they aren't great. Perhaps you'll find something in this list that you'll want to try. On the island of Hokkaido, land of legendary bottomless powder, Uni and Onsens, a rare snowboard was fashioned. Gentemstick founded in 1990 by Taro Tamai sought to buck modern trends and return snowboarding to its essence. Tomai believes mainstream snowboarding with a focus on big air and gaudy tricks has obscured the roots of the sport.
