The venue, Mikey's Jump in the mountain's High Point Terrain park will host the championships over four days in both 2020 and 2021. The events will include training time, qualifying runs, and finish will finals on the Saturday of each event week. In this case, March 14, 2020, and March 13, 2021.

This announcement is almost a homecoming as two locals from Bristol Mountain were last year's champions. Chris Lillis for the men and Winter Vinecki for the women. Jonathon Lillis, the older brother of Chris, is also a Bristol Mountain local and finished second place in the discipline this past year.

In freestyle aerials, athletes complete a series of acrobatic maneuvers in the air after skiing off of 7.5 – 13.5 foot kickers. They are judged based on their amplitude (height and distance in the air), form (style and execution), and landing.
