The Most Dangerous Ski Slopes According To The NY Daily News

Every ski hill out there has its hardest run. Back during my days at Mount Snow, Vermont it was Ripcord in the spring. Riding that wicked steep run with those springtime bumps scared the s#@t out of more than a few people that visited the mountain. But, as I said, one could find a similar trail at any hill in the world.

From the NY Daily News comes a lst of the baddest of the bad. These just aren't the toughest runs on any given hill, but some of the toughest the world has to offer. Let's take a quick at this list. Maybe you have the bragging rights from skiing one or more of these, or you have the story of your helicopter ride and a broken leg from "skiing" one of these.

"Rambo" - Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colorado "The Streif" - Kitzbuehel, Austria
"Great Scott" - Snowbird, Utah "Harikiri" - Mayrhofen, Austria
"Black Hole" - Smugglers' Notch, Vermont "Paradise Run" - Mad River Glen, Vermont
"Corbet's Couloir" - Jackson Hole, Wyoming "Delirium Dive" - Sunshine Village, Banff, Canada
"Al's Run" - Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico "La Chavanette" - Avoriaz, France

I don't know about you, but my knees are starting to ache just looking at that list. Now, we could go through each one indivdually, but I don't think there is a need. This list is all steeps, bumps, elevations, avalache dangers, trees, and more diamonds that one could count on both hands. It really is a good list for some of the most dangerous runs around the globe.

However, as with any list, it could be up for debate. Do you think this is a good list? Do you have stories from these runs and think that maybe they aren't dangerous at all? Could one or two of these by your Elenor?
