Today, August 25, 2019, Is GoToplessDay - A Show Of Support For Women's Equality

Today, August 25, women will be participating in a worldwide protest, or celebration depending on one's location, of a women's right to go topless in public.

According to GoTopLess.org, the day of August 25 was chosen because it is the day before Women's Equality Day, which is August 26. It was in 1971 that the U.S. Congress made the date officially "Women's Equality Day" to recognize the date when women in this country were allowed the right to vote, August 26, 1920.

Should this be spoken about on a winter sports website? Skiing and riding topless, or totally nude, has long been a staple for some of those in the community. A quick search on the internet will confirm that. It could be said that winter sports, as well as most other outdoor sports, communities would support, at least in part, the ideals that come along with this day.

The point is, one might come across this, not only in the cities but in some of our outdoor sports venues as well. Be respectful, be nice, and let people do their thing and say what they need to say. Also, if you are participating, be sure to be careful. Use full sunblock and pay attention to what you are doing. Remember, clothes are also about protection.
