Looking To Work In The Ski Industry This Season? Mt. Hood Meadows To Hire 1,000 Heads

For those looking to work for a ski hill this season, the PNW might be the destination for you. Mt. Hood Meadows in Oregon is looking to fill 1,000 seasonal positions for the 2019/2020 season.

The resort is reporting that they have raised the entry-level wage to $12.50 an hour for non-tipped positions. That's $1.25 above the Oregon minimum wage. On top of getting paid, there is also the pass. As a team member of the mountain, you get to ski or ride for free. Then there are other team member benefits as follows;
  • Free skiing and snowboarding for the team member and qualified dependents with discount buddy tickets for extended family and friends
  • A mountain exchange program to ski and ride for free at many Pacific Northwest ski areas
  • Free daily team member transportation from Hood River and Sandy
  • Free group lessons and discounted equipment rentals
  • On-mountain restaurant and retail discounts and a special employee-store offering a range of essential items at deep discounts

In addition to addressing wages, Mt. Hood Meadows is also working with local property owners to reduce the cost of housing for employees through its successful Turns for Tenants (T4T) program. The mountain is working with local property owners to facilitate MHM Employee access to affordable housing in the region. T4T offers qualifying landlords lift access for providing rent below a threshold for qualifying team members.

For those interested in applying for one of the many open seasonal positions, you can head to SkiHood.com/jobs for specific job listings and more information on benefits for those positions. Also, if you are in or going to be in Oregon during the month of October, you can visit one of several job fairs that will have Mt. Hood Meadows Human Resources team members and Hiring Managers.
