Hermitage Club Snowguns Being Sold This Month
A federal bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of snowmaking equipment from the now-closed Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain in Vermont.
According to a report from the Brattleboro Reformer, an order was issued by Judge Colleen A. Brown for the sale of the snowmaking equipment. The order has set a deadline of 5 P.M. on October 25 for any interested buyers to submit bids.
Currently, a bid for $287,000 was submitted by a subsidiary of Vail Resorts Inc. If another qualifying bid is submitted, there will be an auction held at 10 A.M. on October 29 at the United States Bankruptcy Court in Burlington.
This sale includes 41 snowguns and the related equipment. The proceeds of the sale will be distributed to the various entities with interest in the Hermitage Club.
The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain was a private ski resort in Wilmington, VT. The resort was shut down by the state for failure to pay taxes. There have also been numerous other financial issues that led to the foreclosure on the property and Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
