The Old Farmer's Almanac Weighs In On The Winter With The Ski & Snow Forecast

The folks who put out The Old Farmer's Almanac will put their forecasts up against anyone else who wants to make one. With an 80% accuracy average, no one could blame them. If that average holds true, this year's skiing and riding season could look just about as good as the winter of 2018/2019.

The Almanac is calling for at least seven major snow events this season, starting as early as Thanksgiving and running right into April, depending on the region. Although, for the forecast for this season, it seems that just about every region north of the Mason-Dixon Line and out west is going to have a wicked winter. Speaking of "wicked" winter, here is the Northeast Regions' forecast.

"REGION 1: THE NORTHEAST
Covers Northern New England and upstate New York.
This winter in Northeast promises to be a white out season for snow lovers. The first of three snowstorms sweeps through in the days before Thanksgiving, giving powder hounds and shredders a lot to be thankful for! December brings fresh cover—dustings to deep dumps—from mid-month through the end of year. Then things get serious: Snow starts falling in the new year—and just does not stop, building up to a snowstorm in January’s last week, creating extremely phat conditions! Throughout February, freshies pile on to the accumulated feet of powder almost daily, including the “extra” Leap Day. (But beware: Southern parts of the region may see more wet—rain—than white this month.) Then, as the days get longer and the cold grows stronger, get ready for Round 3: On the first day of spring (March 19) or close, another snowstorm barrels into the region, extending the season well into April—and that’s no fooling!"
If this holds true, it's going to be a long and wonderful ski season here in New England and the surrounding areas. But, that's not the only place the season is going to be great. All the way across the country, if there is a mountain, it'll have a bunch of snow and that snow could last into the spring. This also includes Canada, so our neighbors to the north will be in on the fun, as well.
