The Race To Open Might Have An Official Winner -- Keystone Resort In Colorado Open Tomorrow
If all goes as it seems, the first ski hill to open for the 2019/2020 will be in Colorado.
Thanks in part to an upgrade in snowmaking, and partly due to the crazy early winter conditions seen in the Colorado high country, Keystone Resort is set to open tomorrow, October 12, the earliest opening for the mountain in the last 20 years.
Keystone will open Sat, Oct 12 for our earliest opening in 20+ years! We're positioned to be the first ski resort in North America to open for the 19-20 season. This very early opening day will make this the first mountain to open in North America with lifts turning as soon as they can get them open in the morning. Once they are sure of the exact details, make no mistake, they will be pumping them out via social media, the mountain's website, and any other way possible.
