A New Place To Warm Up On the X-C Ski Trails In Brattleboro, Vermont

A
For those in southern Vermont that cross country ski via the Brattleboro Outing Club, you can rejoice in the fact that there is a brand new warming hut set up and ready to go for the 2019/2020 season.

In a report from the Brattleboro Reformer, the Brattleboro Country Club had renovated the Golf Pro Shop last spring, which was being used as a warming hut during the X-C ski season, and would not be available for use. However, the country club was able to offer a location in the upper parking lot for a new structure.

The Brattleboro Outing Club took them up on this offer and was able to secure a tiny house type structure that had been built by local students in the Construction Trades Program at the Windham Regional Career Center.

This past Tuesday, November 12, the 14-foot by 36-foot little building was transported across town on the back of a truck and then lifted and lowered into place by crane, bringing the project to a very satisfactory conclusion. The final piece, a handicapped-accessible ramp, is being added currently and the new warming open will be open for the 2019/2020 X-C ski season.
