A Record-Setting Early Opening In Massachusetts -- Berkshire East Opened This Past Weekend

While many of those who work in the ski industry was attending the Boston Ski & Snowboard Espo this past Saturday, November 16, there was yet another record-setting November opening happening in the western part of Massachusettes.

It was just six days prior, November 10, that Berkshire East Mountain Resort made an announcement on social media that snowmaking had begun. Not only did this mark the end of mountain biking operations for the year, but it was also the earliest in the mountain's history that snowguns were turned on for the season.

The mountain was not wrong in calling for skiing being right around the corner. It was just three days later that the mountain confirmed that it would open for the 2019/2020 season on November 16.

This made for the earliest opening in the history of the mountain. The mountain will only be open on the weekends until further notice, with the possibility of being open for Black Friday. For updates, scheduling, snow/condition reports, be sure to follow the mountain on their social media pages or head to the Berkshire East Mountain Resort website.
