My First Run Of The Season In 2012 -- Ski Rex Media Video
Today, November 7, is supposed to the first snowfall of the 2019/2020 season for parts of New England, including here at the Ski Rex Media HQ. It's kind of exciting to see how much we actually come up with tonight. But, the little bonus that made me chuckle was seeing this video come up from exactly seven years ago on my personal Facebook page, which was also the first snow of the season for the part of New Jersey I was living in at the time.
Now, the backstory here is that Hurricane Sandy had just come through almost two weeks prior. To add to the problems that came with it, in my part of New Jersey, a snowstorm followed it up. It did wreak havoc with the initial repair work. However, there was this opportunity to have a little fun with it.
As you can see, I was just in a little field that had a little hill in the back of my condo neighborhood. The joke here, with the intro to the video, was to make it seem like it was a big deal, when in fact, it was just a little backyard skiing. It was just a little more than a dusting and it was wicked sticky, too. Plus, I hadn't waxed those skiboards yet. But, I made it down and past the camera for that one tiny run and then took it inside. Nothing fancy, and it might only be funny to me, but who knows? Maybe some of you will get a kick out of this one as well.
So, there you go. It was all in good fun and a little HaHa for me.
