Rare Back To Back Weekends For World Cup Bobsleigh At Lake Placid

World Cup season has already begun in the world of winter sports, but the Bobsleigh season is going to not only have to start a little bit later than originally scheduled, but there had to be a change in venue as a result.

The opening competition for Bobsleigh was to be held in Park City, Utah. The track was having some technical issues with the refrigerations pump system. Track management was able to act quickly in an attempt to repair the issue but was not able to guarantee that track would be ready for the World Cup races.

So as to not have to cancel the first event, it was decided that a change of venue would be the best course of action. The new venue for the season opener will be at the track in Lake Placid, NY. As the second race of the season was set to be in Lake Placid, they have been ready to host an event and were able to add the original race to their own schedule, making for a rare back to back set of races.

The original date for the Park City World Cup event was November 25 to December 1. However, with the need for a change of venue the race date has been pushed back a week to December 7-8. The now second Lake Placid event will still be held on December 13-15, as originally scheduled.

The final and detailed schedule for all races during both events will be released as soon as possible on the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton website.
