The First Race In The Rise And Shine Rando Series At A-Basin Is Next Tuesday

A race on skis geared towards those who like to go uphill. On six different Tuesday mornings in November, December, and January, racers will put on their skins, head up the mountain, then ski back down as many times as they can as part of the Rise and Shine Rando Series at Arapahoe Basin, Colorado.

"Racers will skin up High Noon to Black Mountain Lodge, get checked off by an Arapahoe Basin Employee, and then transition/remove skins and head down Ramrod to the plaza. Rinse, repeat! This event will be timed for an hour; we will not keep track of exact time just the laps of the competitors. A-Basin staff will be marking you as you pass the bottom. Whomever has the most checks wins!"

The first race in the series will be held this coming Tuesday, November 12. Contestants will meet in Mountain Goat Plaza for a 7:00 A.M. start time. The racers will then make laps for the next hour according to the course mentioned above. The three men and women with the most laps in the shortest time will win prizes.

Admission to the race is $25 for a single race or $125 for those looking to participate in all six races in the series. The dates for the other five races are November 26, December. 10 and 17, and January 7 and 21. These races will also start bright and early at 7 A.M. local time.
