For those of you that are locals to or visiting the great state of Colorado, just like these folks, at least one being a SkiRex Media fan, in the photo to the left who celebrated Halloween at Keystone Resort. You have the most choices for open mountains currently. You get Keystone Resort, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Wolf Creek, Eldora Mountain Resort, Monarch Mountain, and Winter Park.
Are you not in Colorado, but in or around Tahoe? You get a place to play, too. You can head over to Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe to get in some early season turns.
Aha, you're in the southwest. Are you close to the high-mountain areas of New Mexico? Not too terribly far south of Taos you can get some runs in at Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort.
Maybe you're from the great state of Minnesota, just like the great Marshall Erickson. You can take a trip to Wild Mountain and get some park time while you are there.
Now, just so you know, our Canadian Brothers & Sisters are not going to be left out in the cold, figuratively speaking, of course. There are a few choices in Alberta as well. Nakiska has been open for a little while now, but also this weekend you could go to Mt. Norquay and Lake Louise. More than enough runs up there for you to dig your skis or board into.
So, where is it going to be? Are you a local to those mountains? Are you a traveler who can't wait any longer to get out on some snow? Are you in the East and just waiting for your turn? Either way, enjoy the weekend!
