Three Utah Resorts Following Snowbird's Lead By Adding A Carpooling App
Snowbird has been seeing some success with reduced traffic and the benefits that come with that, since the release of the R.I.D.E. app. Now, according to this report from KUTV in Salt Lake City, the other Cottonwood Canyons resorts are looking to follow suit.
"Designed to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions and traffic congestion in Little Cottonwood Canyon, the R.I.D.E. (Reducing Individual Driving for the Environment) program rewards you when you take the UTA Ski Bus or carpool with 3+ people to Snowbird."
As a visitor takes advantage of the R.I.D.E. app, they accumulate points that can be redeemed for merch, discounted lift tickets, and other prizes, including a stay at The Cliff Lodge.
It can be assumed that when Alta, Brighton, and Solitude roll out their own versions of the app that their programs will be similar.
