DUI Arrest After A Man Tries To Drive Up Magic Mountain, Vermont


This past Friday, January 24th, a man took uphilling a little too far at Magic Mountain, Vermont as he tried to drive his car up the ski slope.

At just before 11 o'clock this past Friday night, the Vermont State Police and the Winhall Police Dept. responded to reposts of a man attempting to drive a motor vehicle from the parking lot up the ski slopes at Magic. 

According to the press release from the Vermont State Police, Troopers met with the driver of the vehicle, Frederick P. Brechter, 59, of Shelter Island, NY, who showed signs of driving under the influence. Brechter then showed additional signs of his impairment during Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

Brechter was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court to answer to the DUI charge. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported to either Brechter or the Troopers and Officers that responded to the call.
