A Day For Jake -- A Day To Ride In Remembrance Of Jake Burton Carpenter
The death of Jake Burton Carpenter this past November shook the entirety of the snowboard and skiing world to its very core. A man who could be considered the truest pioneer of modern-day snowboarding, Jake will be missed for a long time to come and celebrated by any person using gear that bears his name. In the coming weeks, this celebration will be very real as riders from around the world take part in "A Day For Jake".
In honor of the life and work of Jake Burton Carpenter, many resorts from around the world will be helping riders celebrate the Godfather of Snowboarding by offering free lift tickets for the day. There are 13 mountains in total that are participating, including Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont, which was the first mountain Jake talked into allowing snowboards on the lifts. All of the mountains taking part are listed below.
