A New Jersey Man Died On A Vail Chairlift

It is being reported that a man has been killed in an accident involving a chairlift at Vail, Colorado.

According to a report from the Vail Daily, Jason Varnish, a 46-year-old man from Short Hills, New Jersey, was killed when he fell through the seat portion of a chair on the Chair 37 lift in Vail's Blue Sky Basin. It seems that the chair's folding seat was in the upright position, which caused Varnish to fall through the chair.

It was at this time that Varnish's coat ended up getting stuck around his head and neck, causing him to suffocate to death. The Eagle County Coroner's Office has given positional asphyxia as the cause of death and has reported that the investigation is still ongoing.
