Financial Issues Take Down A Ski Hill In Massachusetts
It's never a good thing to see any ski hill have to shut its doors for any reason. However, the state of Massachusettes has to witness one of its own close up shop for the last time. Yesterday, March 26th, Ski Blandford in Blandford, MA announced that choice to halt operations for good. The announcement came in the form of a letter posted to the mountain's website and social media pages and signed by the President of the mountain Jef Murdock and General Manager Ronald W. Crozier.
It's clear that like most mountains the end up having to close due to any hardship, the folks at Ski Blandford are not just closing a business, but deeply saddened by having to close a mountain.
On the plus side, the operators appear to be doing their best to do right by those who called Ski Blandford their home mountain, including transferring some passes and giving discounted passes at the sister mountain, Ski Butternut.
Truly a shame to see a New England mountain have to go. Perhaps in time, Ski Blandford will rise again. It has happened before.
