Silverton Mountain, Colorado Looking To Reopen Double Quick Despite Closure Order
Though many ski areas and resorts have chosen to shut down during the Coronavirus outbreak, it was an executive order by Colorado Governor Jared Polis that closed down the mountains in that state. Though all of the mountains would like to be open or reopen as soon as possible, Silverton Mountain seems to be looking to challenge the closure order.
They do make a valid point and though the closures are very recent, this point has been debated throughout the skiing and snowboarding community a fair amount already. Will they find a way to reopen before the closure order is lifted? If they do, is that the right thing to do even though they have a low visitor count and are in the wide open spaces?
