Killington & Pico, Vermont Look To Address The Impact Of COVID-19 On 19/20 And Look To 20/21
Several mountains and mega passes have been announcing plans to benefit guests that may have lost out on the 2019/2020 season and to help alleviate some of the worries that are being felt when it comes with committing to any mega pass or single mountain season, a season that is coming with some uncertainty due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Today, April 30, sibling hills Killington Resort and Pico Mountain have announced how they intend to address these issues.
To start, Killington and Pico are issuing vouchers to qualified 2019/2020 season and multi-day pass holders that can be applied to the purchase of any season or multi-day pass products for the coming 2020/2021 season. The vouchers will be valid now through the 2020/2021 season, with the value being based on the product that was purchased for the 2019/2020 season. These are in addition to reimbursements that have already been issued for the Spring Pass, day tickets, lessons, lodging and rental products, and experiences.
Similar to plans like Epic Coverage, for example, the Killington and Pico announcement includes a step to help alleviate some of the stress and uncertainty of committing to and paying for a pass that has some chance of not being used. The new Passholder Promise has been added and includes the following benefits:
- Refund Available – Buy with Confidence: Killington and Pico will issue a full refund before November 20, 2020, for any pass holder who has not used their 2020/21 pass and desires a refund for any reason.
- Best Pricing: Best pricing on 2020/21 season passes has been extended through July 15, 2020.
- Flexible Payment Plan: A payment plan is available for ease and flexibility.
- Annual Subscription Pass: The Beast365 all season, unlimited subscription pass allows guests to pay monthly and if we are not open due to COVID-19, pass holders will not be charged.
Killington and Pico have already made several strides to not only address their guest's concerns during these times but have also stepped up to help address some of the needs of their staff and the community they are part of. Some of these actions include the two grocery giveaways that were held at Killington during the last two months, giving Rutland Regional Hospital access to lodging as needed, and donating protective equipment such as gloves and sanitizer to health care workers.
