A High Graduation Set For The Top Of Cranmore Mountain, New Hampshire

Just like the ski industry, the 2019/2020 school year came to a close abruptly with the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak. It could be said that this hit Class of 2020 graduates the hardest as just about all commencement ceremonies have been canceled. However, for one school in New Hampshire, the shuttered ski industry and school system are coming together to give the kids a proper send-off.

In what has to be one of the most unique commencement ceremonies to happen anywhere, Kennet High School in Conway, N.H. is sending the Class of 2020 to the top in a very literal way. The kids will be taking a chairlift ride to the top of Cranmore Mountain Resort to receive their diplomas.

To keep with social distancing and group gathering guidelines, the graduates will be sent up the lifts with the proper size group with chairs in between each group. There are also plans in place for those who do not wish to take the chair up and if the event has to be changed due to weather.

Though, as long as all goes according to plan, the senior class will be taking their ride up the mountain on June 13th, 2020.
